At the Greenwich Japanese School
(Greenwich, CT)

Thursday, November 18, 2010
9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Organized by:
The Greenwich Japanese School in collaboration with American Federation of Teachers, Gabriella and Paul Rosenbaum Foundation and Global Education Resources

The Greenwich Japanese School (GJS) has held open houses annually since 2000. These events have provided the education community with opportunities to observe and discuss 1st to 9th grade research lessons. This year, the open house will offer research lessons in Japanese language arts (grade 2), mathematics (grade 1 and grade 8) and life studies (special education class).

In addition to observing research lessons and examining how they bring to life topics in the CCSSiM, participants will have an opportunity to observe regular classrooms (mostly mathematics this year), and experience the workings of a Japanese school and its educational philosophy.

Registrants can make hotel reservations at a reduced rate of $109 (plus 12% tax) under the name of "GJS Open House" for the nights of 11/17 and 11/18 at:
