The Greenwich Japanese School (GJS) has held open houses annually since 2000. These events have provided the U.S. education community with opportunities to observe authentic Japanese lesson study, instruction and learning (particularly teaching through problem solving), and schooling. This year, the open house will offer research lessons in Japanese language arts, mathematics, science, and special education. Participants can experience school life in the Japanese elementary school (Grades 1 to 6) and lower secondary school (Grades 7 to 9) without actually visiting Japan.
